I’m a quarter of the way to getting my phone bill paid, its due on the 22nd. I need it to be available for my new job/ if something goes sideways with the house in the divorce proceedings.
Thanks to a friend I have $40 of the 90 I need. Almost there
Bucky’s role in this movie is the point where Marvel nerd and non-nerd audiences part ways. Going by the reactions I’ve seen from film critics and my non-fan friends, Captain America: The Winter Soldier was an entertaining superhero movie that probably should’ve had more dialogue and fewer action sequences. But if you go by Marvel/Captain America fandom, EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS FILM WAS AGONY AND LIFE IS A WORTHLESS HELLSCAPE UNTIL STEVE AND BUCKY CAN BE TOGETHER AGAIN.
Was anyone else a little bit disappointed that the kick ass Lady Counsel Member turned out to be Natasha? Still love Natasha, but for a few glorious seconds, it was awesome to see an older woman come out of nowhere to kick ass.
Oh hell yes. For one glorious moment this movie was going to be the utter best thing ever made. And then…. well it was still cool but such a disappointment we didn’t get unexpected kick ass over 40 woman.
Did we ever even find out what happened to the counsel member?
We, too, thought for a glorious moment that Captain America: The Winter Soldier was a movie where every female character was a secret badass.
YES. I was really excited for a couple of seconds there. Immediately wondering who she really is, what her life has been like, wanting to know more about her. Then, the reveal. I actually said, “Oh.” out loud.
There’s this shitty thing that happens when you learn about the reality of racism, sexism and misogyny. You start to hear it from the mouths of your parents, grandparents, friends and siblings and you can’t ignore it anymore but you’ll see how many of them will ignore you when you speak out about it.
